Directions for our support group's private chat room.

(You must attend one of our local support group meetings to be added to the Yahoo! groups chat room list.)

1. Yahoo! groups log in page (http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups): Use this link to get to the log in page for Yahoo! groups, the site that hosts our chat room. (If you never signed in this way before, and don't have a Yahoo ID and password, then you'll need to join Yahoo! groups to participate in the chat room. It's free and easy--see directions below.) Logging in at this address should put you on the "My Groups" page.

2. Page down until you see the group named "cfidsfms"--this is the CFIDS/FMS Rockland Chat group. Click on the name of the group. This should put you on the main Yahoo! groups page for the CFIDS/FMS Rockland Chat group.

3. On the left side of the page there is a column of links for more pages that are connected with this Yahoo! group. Click on "chat".

4. Your in! It may take a few minutes for the chat room program to load. If you don't have "Yahoo Chat 1.3" on your computer it will prompt you to load it--say yes. Once the chat window is loaded type in a welcome message introducing yourself, just in case people don't recognize your Yahoo ID name.

Directions for joining Yahoo to get your Yahoo ID and password.

1. Go to the Yahoo! groups log in page (http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups) and click the blue link on the left that says "Sign up now".

2. Follow the directions to join Yahoo, then use the directions above to log in to the chat room.
